if i'm getting paid...let me do my job

Last night, I was working at Waldo's. This couple and other woman come in every week. Last night, being no different, the man orders a smoothie, one woman a chai, and the other an iced mocha. Apparently their daughter used to work here, so they think they own the place. As I'm making the drinks, the lady leans over to get the card-puncher, as she does every week and punches her card. I usually am a little annoyed by this, but am like "whatever." Last night, however, she leans over again and rings up her drinks!! I was about ready to push her back. She's like "where is the iced mocha button, is that the same as mocha?" I was like "just a second, I'll get it." She ended up finishing and then even pushed credit and ran her dang card through the machine, tears the receipt and signs it...all while I am waiting on her, making her drinks. We were out of whipped cream last night and I knew this might cause a stir with the man...he likes whip on his smoothie. I didn't even ask if they wanted whip (well I couldn't really since we were out), I just gave them their drinks. Of course three minutes later, he comes back and asks for some. I told him we were out and he responds with "WHAT?!" and knocks his hand on the counter. Ahh. I am still soo annoyed by the whole incident.

I made it through my first week of physical plant.  I am on the watering crew but last week things weren't ready to be watered, so we did some landscaping and other odd jobs.  Hard work, to say the least.  I'm a bit sore today.  We've been shoveling rock, scooping mulch, and lifting pavers.  I don't mind it though.  Actually, I think I would rather do that than water.  Watering is going to be soo boring.  At least we can bring ipods and a book even.  Maybe an alarm clock would be nice to have.  haha.

Life in St. Peter is great as well.  There's not too much going on, but so far that's ok.  Last night I went down to the bar...hung out with the townies and Caroline and Addie.  Thanks to Glen and Dan, we drank for free. hah.  I think I will try to see how long I can go without paying for drinks at Patty's.  The house is coming together nicely.  Erik and I spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen on Thursday cleaning everything.  We tidied up the Patriot and bought a case of beer.  The three of us sat and played cribbage and drank beers all night.  I'm thinking some fun times will be had in the Patriot.

Mom got me a bed and a dresser.  This is great news.  I think she may come in the morning too!  I'm anxious to get my room set up.  I hung up my world map yesterday.  Pretty awesome.

Tonight's agenda: kato for groceries and a couple other things, organize some clothes, and hang out.  :)

peace.

I am addicted to coffee...

and it's kind of a problem.  Working at Waldo's (the coffee shop) is not helping me out.  I should probably give up coffee, but the chance of that working out is slim.

I am definitely not feeling normal right now.  This is crazy.

Home Sweet Home

house mates!!

We finally got to move into our house on Sunday.  What a process that was.  I hate moving out of the dorms.  It's just such a mess.  We still aren't completely moved in but things are coming together.  I don't have a bed, so I'm sleeping on the couch.  That's totally fine with me to sleep there permanently but I don't think Erik and Benny would like that. hah.  Erik is on the floor, and Benny's got a futon.  Here's a pic of our living room so far.  This is the room that is almost done.  Everything else just has boxes and junk everywhere.

I've already experienced having no money for food.  I bought a loaf of bread, pb & j, bananas, yogurt, and licorice.  That's all I've been eating for the last couple days.  Until Friday payday, I'll prolly just get another loaf.  Gross.

If you're in St. Peter, give me a jingle!  We want company!  And you can sign our guest book.
